MEETING MINUTES - AUGUST 9, 2004

The monthly meeting for August was held on the 9th at the Woburn Elks Club.  In attendance were Mike, Michelle, & Kyle Nadeau, Eric & Ronellen Gagnon, Joe & Janice LeBlanc, Barbara Day, Steve Devine, Cedric Kam, Paul Seeberg, Ron Parkinson, Herb Strachman, Dan Papale, Denise Thorpe and Doug Snook.

Topics for Discussion:

MG Day at the MOT, Scheduled for August has been rescheduled to October 23rd

British Invasion – Stowe VT, is next week! September 18 – 21.  Several club members are making the trip.  If anyone would like to caravan up there we will meeting at the Hookset, NH rest area just off 93, Friday morning @ 10:00 a.m.  All are welcome!

British Car Day @ Edaville Railroad - Come Ride the Rails!  We are sponsoring this show and are looking forward to a great turnout.  It is scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 10 - 3.  Paul has already 10 cars pre-registered!!  We have reserved a DJ for the day and we urge all club members to attend.

Plans for the show were discussed they include:
Raffle - It was decided to have a 50/50 raffle as well as a raffle for any merchandise that has been donated.  Janice is putting together a raffle basket consisting of 'English Tea Items'.  Ron has donated some wax products.  Sam @ Brits Bits has donated a gift certificate.  Awards - Three (3) trophies are being donated by Barbara Day - she will be
getting the nameplates engraved for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place award.  Eric will be getting the award for the 'biggest oil leak'.  Goodie Bags - Bags will be given out to the first 50 cars,   Eric and Ronnellen will be making window clings and bumper stickers.  Paul is printing out all car registrations and voting ballets.  Mike will make sure there are club applications available.  A table will be set up selling club products.  

An informal meeting to discuss the Edaville Show will be held Friday, September 24th, 7:00 PM at Waltham Beer Works, at the corner of Moody and Crescent Street in Waltham, MA.  We will be finalizing all show plans at this time.

The 27th Annual MGB Associating Meeting this year is taking place in Falmouth, MA.  It is being held in conjunction with the British Legends Weekend.  The Car show will be held on Sunday, October 10th at 9:00 am.  Since this is the first time in many years that the event is being held locally - it would be great if we had some cars from our group
attending.  We plan to meet at the Hilltop Steak House parking lot in Braintree -  just off Rte 3 at 8:00 a.m.

There is a car show being held in Weston, MA on Saturday, September 25th.  It is in the center of the town, on the lawn, where the clock tower is.  This is the same spot several of us met up with Nels when we went to Riley's in May.

Congratulations to Barbara Day - She has just celebrated owning her 1953 TD for 50 Years!!!

Club hats and shirts are for sale at all meetings and events.  Hats are $15.00, polo shirts are $25.00 and sweatshirts are $25.00.  If you would
like to arrange a purchase at any other time or place, please contact Eric Gagnon to work out the details.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, October 14th at 7:00 at the THE WOBURN ELKS.  The Woburn Elks is on Washington Street, which is exit 36 off of Rte 93.  See you all there!

Friday, September 24th, 7:00 PM at Waltham Beer Works, at the corner of Moody and Crescent Street in Waltham, MA.  We will have an informal meeting to finalize all plans for  the Edaville Show.

October 2 - Boston Area MG - Come Ride the Rails @ Edaville Railroad, Carver, MA
