Waushakum Live Steamers Open House

During the weekend of August 27 through 29, 2004, the Waushakum Live Steamers of Holliston, Massachusetts held their 34th Annual Meet Weekend where live steam and model diesel operators from a wide area meet at the WLS site to operate on one of their large sets of track.

The club operates two sets of track, the "high line" supporting two smaller gauges where the operate rides sideways behind the locomotives plus the much larger 7-1/4" gauge where the locomotives get very large, as seen in the photos. Several thousand feet of track are in place with tunnels, deep cuts, bridges, etc. allowing for long rides and a variety of scenery.

WLS member and active Train-Sim.Com member John Kelly invited me down on Saturday and gave me a tour of the facitilies. Thanks John! Below you can see some of the photos I took of the operations.
