East Metro Rebuild Announcement
All Aboard (i.e. maker of Canton, Cumberland and the Ohio Rail
Upgrade) is excited to announce our latest addition to the abundance
of routes available for MSTS with a remake of 'the old gal', the East
Metro. Originally one of the early routes using default objects and
released in September of 2001, the East Metro was simply a test route
reaching a worldwide audience. It fell into obscurity and was soon
forgotten with new techniques being the preferred method of building
routes. An idea came to revitalize the East Metro last January and
the results are now available for purchasing.
The East Metro Rebuilt includes 3 railroads (i.e. the EMMR,
Lutherlex Corp and Krenshaw). The mainline of the route is
approximately 25 miles in length with over 100 miles of track
including mainline, yards, interchange, spurs and branchline) to
serve over 29 industries including: Intermodal, textile, coal mines,
coal prep, limestone, concrete, grain and lumber (including logging),
plus many more. You also get 4 yards, 2 interchanges, 9 passenger
pickup points as well as repair shed, facility and engine shed.
The premise of the East Metro is the EMRR is a bridgeline between
two Class A's while having its own localized pickups. Large cities to
smaller towns are represented in a very detailed route selectively
compressed for reasonable run times. The route comes with 26
activities ranging from basic to advanced switching in addition to
mainline runs.
The East Metro Rebuilt is a period route depicting life between
1980 and the early to mid 1990s. Seasonal changes are represented for
Summer, Autumn and Winter but not for Spring or Nights.
In addition to the East Metro Rebuild route, additional
supplemental material includes schematics by Don Hughes, and a 20
page manual as well as an auto-installer to facilitate ease of
installation. Links to additional support files are done by pdf for
fail-safe connecting.
The East Metro rolling stock by Dick Cowen features a new feature
exclusive to East Metro Rebuilt. We call them reversible cabs.
Because of this the East Metro Rebuilt route is void of any wyes. The
reversible cab allows an engineer to turn around in his seat so as to
run reverse without having to change to any outside views. The cab
controls are visible to the engineer in both directions making
switching more enjoyable and realistic. Most of the engines included
have this exciting feature.
Like most of All Aboard routes, the East Metro Rebuild is designed
with "anywhere USA" in mind. This means any of your favorite road
names ran on the East Metro Rebuild route will look at home. With a
very richly detailed route in the background, your favorite engines
and rolling stock will look more realistic than ever.
